Best Curry (2006)
Orchid Thai Cuisine might be the best-kept secret in Albuquerque that isn't a secret. If the Alibi hosted a curry cook-off, Orchid Thai's pineapple curry (with chicken or tofu, your pick) would be the blue ribbon winner. It ... is ... delicious. Full of wonderful chunks of potato and pineapple, this creamy sauce comes served straight out of the hallowed shell of a pineapple. The dish is complete with a fresh orchid adorning your plate. Incredible.

Best Fried Tofu (2006)
OK, all you negators out there, let's clear this up once and for all. Tofu is nutritious, delicious and lends itself just as well to being deep fried as it does to any sauce. Orchid Thai Cuisine gets the top props for building the best bean curd.

Best Pad Thai (2006)
The thing about pad thai, says Alibi Managing Editor Christie Chisholm, is that it must be perfectly balanced. Not too much fish oil, nor too many green onions. It takes a distinct talent to make a masterful pad thai, and Orchid Thai Cuisine has the gift. They don't just throw a bunch of rice noodles in a pan and fry them up with some peanuts and call it pad thai—they put a little bit of their soul into each dish. It's Thai soul food, after all.

"My family and I had lunch at Orchid Thai Cuisine last weekend and it was extraordinarily good. Having learned to eat Thai food from Thais, I was very pleased with the excellent preparation and presentation. We ate papaya salad, Laab Gai, combination fried rice, Pad Thai, and another noodle dish much like Pad Ki Mao. Each was perfectly prepared to the point that I could find no fault with any dish. The lovely orchid garnish added visual beauty to this beautiful taste experience. This one visit has made us loyal customers. I have eaten at scores of Thai restaurants for the past 15 years, from coast to coast, and Orchid Thai Cuisine is among the best, if not the best, I have had the pleasure of experiencing." - David Lynch

Great quality & great food

This is a small place on Central that serves really good food. The quality, taste, spice-level, service, and overall experience is definitely recommended. We have tried many Thai restaurants, and for ABQ, this one is one of the best !

The Mandarin Chicken is great! So is the Pad Thai. I would recommend going for lunch or making dinner reservations. Dinner time isn't as fun because it takes so long for the food to come out! But at lunch the food is great and the value is great! I'd say one of the better (though not best) Thai places in Albuquerque.

My time at Orchid Thai was divine! Our table shared a wonderful hot beef salad, Kung Pao Chicken, and a spivy Pad Thai. The PuPu tray for two was delicious, the service superb.
